Re: [Tyndale STEP - Translations] Re: Google docs

Hi, David. Thank you; this should be useful because I won't have to copy all the work I do offline onto the online version. And for other purposes as well. I am using my e-mail address. Also, I've just gotten SESB unlocked while in a location with wireless, so that should be interesting. I will probably have to check many of the psalms against its apparatus because I've been working without for quite a while. GG

Galen, thanks for pointing out yet another problem with GoogleDocs.
I think this experiment is not working - we spend more time wrestling
with the technology than we should.
Lets revert to Word docs, but share them via Dropbox.
If you don't already know it, DropBox sits like a normal folder in
your "Documents" on your computer, and contains all the files you put there.
Whenever you are online, it uploads any changes to a central store
(unless the document is still open - so it is a good idea to close
documents when you are done).
If someone else has changed a file, it downloads the new version to
your computer.
What this means is that we can share files and yet work on them even
when our computer isn't connected to the internet.
We can use real Word documents, and not bother with the clumsiness of
GoogleDocs.
Please go to www.GetDropBox.com and open your own account, tell me
the email ID you have used,, and then I will 'share' the relevant
folder with you.
