Don't be worried if all your notes appear to be missing or if they are all changed!
If you don't like it, I can reverse it.
I think this new format makes it possible to display some more complex changes, though we may have to stop ourselves getting carried away!
Galen has pointed out that it is easy to get confused with all the inserts, and this made me think about how to help ourselves see the text more easily.
I've changed the formatting so that things inside brackets are blue, and can be hidden (so they may be hidden to you now)
To see Hidden text, click on the Paragraph symbol (the backwards P)
(If you don't have this visible, and you aren't sure how to make it visible, see below).
This means we can toggle the inserts On and Off, so that we can quickly see the real text again.
(I find this works much better on Normal view, not Print layout view)
Tomorrow I'll make a macro to help you quickly add new notes in this formatting.
Galen - I've renamed your dated file dated 18Oct as "Psa_working_1_29.doc" and the one which was locked as "Psa_working_1_29 till 17Oct09.doc"
Please could you check to see there is nothing you need in that old file, and delete it.
Also, I have made some changes in Ps.20.9 and 27.8 but I've left your version in Red, in case you want to reject mine.
Kate - Galen had a useful list at the top of her doc to remind her which translations we are using as key comparisons. I've put it at the top of Mark in case you find it helpful.
Here are some quick instructions for getting this working on your machine.
They only need to be carried out once.
To make the Paragraph symbol visible:
- click on menu "Tools", "Customize", "View"
- Drag "Show all" to sit on one of your toolbars
- Close "Customize"
(Does this work in Word 2007?)
To make things hidden and unhidden by pressing Ctrl-H:
- click on "Tools", "Customize", "Keyboard"
- put the cursor in "Press new shortcut key" and press Ctrl-H
- in "Categories" click on "Format"
- in "Commands" click on "Hidden"
- click on "Assign" then "Close" and "Close"
To see it, click on the Paragraph symbol.
Highlight it again and press Ctrl-H, and it is UnHidden.
Hope you find it useful.
